The National Day of Prayer is only a few days away. For those of you who tirelessly plan events every year, it probably feels like you just finished last year and already the first Thursday of May is upon you. It is amazing how the time flies. What an exciting time it is though. On May 1, millions of God's people will be praying, united across denominations as one voice before the throne. Your efforts are contributing to something that is eternal. Remember, prayer outlives the lives of those who utter them. They outlive a generation, outlive an age and outlive a world. Revelation 5:8 and 8:3-4 tell us that the prayers of the Saints are a sweet aroma to Him.
E.M. Bounds tells us, "God shapes the world by prayer. The more praying there is in the world, the better the world will be and the mightier the forces against evil everywhere. Prayer, in one phase of its operation, is a disinfectant and a preventive. Prayer is God's settled and singular condition to move ahead His Son's kingdom. Therefore, the believer who is the most highly skilled in prayer will do the most for God. Men are to pray - to pray for the advance of God's cause. The one who can wield the power of prayer is the strong one, the holy one, in Christ's kingdom. He is one of God's heroes, saints, servants, and agents. "Ask, and it shall be given you, seek, and ye shall find; knock and it shall be opened to you" Matthew 7:7. The strongest one in Christ's kingdom is he who can knock the best, and the secret of success in Christ's kingdom is the ability to pray.
Prayer is the greatest of all forces because it honors God and brings Him into active aid. Prayer is the easiest and hardest of all things. It is the simplest and the most sublime, the weakest and the most powerful. Its results lie outside the range of human possibilities; they are limited only by the omnipotence of God."
Prayer is an act of submission.
Remember, in praying, it is not about us, it is about what we do for Him - who first loved us. You may never see your prayers answered in your lifetime. But we must tarry with our Father. Through prayer you will understand the deep things of God.

As a taxpayer funded organization, how does the GAO determine if you are successful? If the results of prayers may not come to fruition in our lifetime, how does your organization track the success rates of prayers and remain accountable to your constituents, the taxpayers?
You have quoted a lot of Bible verses. Do you regret using your government position to discriminate against people who do not follow the Bible, or who are not religious?
I have a rock that keeps tigers away. I can prove it because there have not been any tigers in my neighborhood since I moved in. I'm thinking maybe the city should pay me for my service... what do you think, does a 2% tax on alcohol seem reasonable? It's a pretty valuable service; it protects children and families.
I was VERY concerned that Honoray Chairman for the National Day of Prayer would actually pray a prayer NOT in the Name of Jesus at a corporate prayer meeting.....I hope that this was just a rumor and not the truth....Is it?????
Was this done in response to a clear word from God????
I fear this might have opened a door in this nation that might never be shut.....I would like to share this prayer with you for the ongoing prayers that go on for this nation....I hope that it will bless you and us as we stand together asking for the Lord to Bless and restore this land....
Prayer for Mercy and Forgiveness for Our Nation
Dear Lord,
We have been following our own ways and rejecting yours. Please forgive us and have mercy on us. We have shed innocent blood, broken your laws, rebelled against You and Your authority, we have looked to our own ways and made our own convenient gods; we’ve created and believed lies and taught lies to our children. Satan is the father of lies, so, by doing this, we have made Satan our Father.
Please Forgive us, Lord, and HELP US. We cannot fix this or others alone. We cannot seem to stop this attrocious nightmare we have created that now has a life of its own. ONLY YOU can make us a people and a nation wise to acknowledge that Your ways alone are right once again.
Help us and cause us to walk according to your ways so that we would be called just in your eyes. Have mercy on us, Lord, forgive us and send your Holy Spirit to help us walk uprightly once again so that we will accomplish Your purposes and so that YOU will be seen as the ONLY true Good and GREAT God, so that ALL the nations and peoples of the world will worship you alone and walk uprightly before you. Lord, let no man be lost.
Help us to live and love as you would have us.
Please forgive us for calling evil:good and good:evil. For calling darkness;light and light:darkness for calling bitter:sweet and sweet:bitter. Please have mercy, through your Son, and make us a people and a nation that speaks and lives the truth once more. Reveal to us any bitter root judgements we have harbored and help us to allow you to take them out and turn our heaerts and lives sweet once again before YOU. Please forgive us for cursing and rejecting your creation as you made it to be and for rejecting your Word.
Lord, Your ways are perfect. We stand here now, and say, We trust in YOU Lord, with ALL our hearts, We lean not on our own understanding and in all our ways we acknowledge you So YOU will direct our paths. Lord we choose to trust, in YOU alone to perfect all that concerns us.
Help us to live this and not just say it. Thank you Lord for your great and marvelous compassion and for making a way for us to come to You and ask these things, not on based on our own worthiness; but based on the righteousness we have gained through Your son, Jesus who has made our peace with You….Thank You Father, In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.
